JULIA RAGNARSSON'S BA GRADUATE COLLECTION IS AN OBSERVATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CELEBRITY CULTURE, FASHION AND THE FEMALE FORM. EXPLORING HOW THE MODERN FASHION IMAGE IS COMMUNICATED TO A WIDER AUDIENCE THROUGH CELEBRITY CULTURE. CELEBRITIES ARE WALKING BILLBOARDS, AND AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR DESIGNERS. RAGNARSSON AIMS TO QUESTION THIS ADOPTED CULTURE THROUGH THIS BODY OF WORK PRODUCED IN HER FINAL YEAR AS A STUDENT AT THE SWEDISH SCHOOL OF TEXTILES. HER PROCESS DEVELOPED A NEW DESIGN PROCESS THROUGH AN EXPLORATION OF FIGURATIVE PRINTS IN RELATION TO THE BODY, THE RESULT OF WHICH SHOWCASES THE BANALITY OF MASS MEDIA AND CONSUMER FASHION, AND ACKNOWLEDGES AN EVER GROWING SOCIAL DESIRE FOR RECOGNITION AND FAME. RAGNARSSON'S COLLECTION, THOUGH ULTIMATELY AN IRONIC CRITIQUE OF THE PREVAILING IDEALS, IS  A TRIBUTE TO WOMEN WHO HAVE LEFT THEIR MARK IN THE HISTORY OF FASHION.
