Backstage preparations are well underway for Yulia Kondranina’s AW14 show. As a past Merit Award winner, expectations are high for the Russian designer’s latest collection.Silje Vincent, head stylist at Toni & Guy and her team of hair experts are creating a grungy, morning after look for the show. “We’re working again with one side away from the face, and then all the roots a little bit greasy and a bit stringy,” Vincent explains. After prepping the hair with mousse and sea salt spray to create a rough texture, curling tongs are used to enhance the look. Label M soufflé is applied to the roots to create more separation, giving it a day-old look.
Lan Nguyen Grealiss and her team from The Body Shop are creating a bold look for the show. Eyes are given a smudgy smoky look, continuing with the grunge theme. Charcoal and burgundy colours are used on the lid and under the eye, adding instant drama, while complexions are left sheer and dewy with a defined cheek bone.
