We are excited to announce our partnership with ASOS on the 2017 Fashion Discovery competition!
The winners will receive 12 months of mentoring support from ASOS, providing insight and advice from key areas of the online retailer’s expertise including retail, content, marketing and sourcing. A £50,000 cash prize will also be awarded to each and an edit of the winners’ collections will be available on the ASOS website. In addition to ASOS inside experts, the judging panel includes Susie Lau, Katie Baron and Gemma Shiel.

The partnership arose from shared values in supporting and nurturing emerging talent, and recognising that up and coming designers need support to help grow in order to establish themselves as successful businesses.

As part of the company’s commitment to supporting emerging talent, ASOS launches the Fashion Discovery competition for the second year running. The competition is open to emerging fashion companies registered in the UK and aims to find the very best in fresh talent. The collections of the winning brands will be available to ASOS customers around the world. This year, there will be a minimum of two winners which will be handpicked by the judges. However, there will also be a “peoples pick” winner, selected by a public vote of the final 10 candidates, who’s collection will also be sold on site.
Last year’s winning brands, Hanger and Elissa Poppy, will be sold on ASOS in time for this years launch early September 2017. Like 2016, the Fashion Discovery judges are looking for brands that stand out and display originality, commerciality, personality and entrepreneurial flair. Further Fashion Scout designers were finalist's last year and are now stocked on ASOS including Typical Freaks.
Over the past 11 years we have scouted, supported and showcased a whole generation of talent including Peter Pilotto, Iris Van Herpen, Gareth Pugh, Eudon Choi, David Koma, William Tempest, Pam Hogg, Agi and Sam, Roberts|Wood and Phoebe English to name a few, and we continue to play supporting role in the UK fashion industry.
Entries for the first stage of the competition are open today and run until Monday 30th October. The two winners will be announced in May 2018. More details and the online entry form can be found here.
