The super sassy and brilliantly unconventional designer Billie Jacobina will be showcasing her third collection on the Fashion Scout runway in just a few weeks’ time during London Fashion Week. Her fun, bold and wonderfully pink designs have previously stunned our judges, resulting in Billie being awarded our coveted Ones to Watch award as well as the Residency award at Graduate Fashion Week in 2016.

With exciting designs that will put a smile on everyone’s face, we cannot wait to see what the new collection will dazzle us with. We’ve caught up with this incredible designer ahead of the event to discover the inside scoop on what we can expect to see next, her career highlights so far and where she dreams to be in the future.

Hi Billie! We’re so excited here at Fashion Scout to see your new collection at London Fashion week! Your designs are always stunningly bright, bold and fun, where do you find the inspiration from? And can you give us a little hint as to what we can expect to see in a few weeks’ time?

My inspiration I take from experiences and things I dream about! This season is a Bakery theme, as I was working in a Bakery last season. Which I didn't enjoy with the early mornings and having to hold back from eating everything. So I decided to make a negative a positive by making cakes and all things sweet in to my new collection. I can't give too much away, but expect a lot of fun, pink and prints!

On a scale of 1-10 how excited are you about presenting at London Fashion Week in September?

11! It's my favourite time of the year. Especially this season as it is my third season and a year since I won the One's to Watch award with my Graduate collection.

Apart from your own collection, who else are you eager to see at Fashion Scout?

Hellvagirl, her designs blow me away every season. Also Edda, her work is so amazing and creative.

What has been the highlight of your fashion career so far?

Winning Ones to Watch and Graduate fashion week's Residency award last year. Also being able to show at fashion scout since then.

It must have been incredible to win both of these - what happened after being announced as the winner?

I won both awards within the same season so I had a lot of work on my plate. When I found out I had won One's to watch I was three weeks away from flying to Jakarta for three months. I had to make extra pieces in this time. I then flew out to Jakarta to work on a new collection with 'Lekat' where we were discovering Indonesia and making this collection. As a print Graduate I decided that Jakarta fashion week needed something different so I worked on the prints. I then came back to London for LFW and headed back out to Jakarta for Jakarta fashion week. It was defiantly a crazy experience! It kick started my fashion career. I really wouldn't be where I am now without these awards.

Where do you dream to see yourself in the next 5 years?

Hopefully stocked in shops around the world, living the pink dream! I really want to show in Tokyo as I think my designs would be a big hit out there.

If you could choose, who is the one person you dream will wear your stunning designs?

That's so hard! Ann Marie, I think she would suit everything! Rihanna is someone I dream would try something on.

I’ve seen you’re on the hunt to form a #SassSquad which sounds incredible! What are you looking for and how can we all get involved?

While I was looking for models, videographers, assistants, collaborations and photographers I thought of calling it the Sass Squad! I love it as I love to use unusual models and people for my show. Email me billiejacobina@hotmail.com and I reply to everyone! Also watch this space for some amazing Sass Squad designs and accessories.

Make sure to keep your eye out for Billie’s collection at Fashion Scout – this designer is well on her way to becoming the sassiest graduate around.
