The 2018 Woolmark Prize winners are as follows; the ‘Innovation Award’ went to Dyne, a New York based brand, whilst London based Matthew Miller won the ‘Menswear Prize’, and Indian designer, Ruchika Sachdeva won the ‘Womenswear Award’ with her label Bodice. Woolmark said that all three winners ‘demonstrated the best in emerging design and presented a true celebration of fashion design and innovation, whilst also shining the spotlight on Australian Merino Wool.’
It was a truly international affair , with nominees from over 60 differing countries, and the finalists representing six different regions around the world.
To be nominated for such an award let alone win, is considered to be a huge honour, with these talented designers following in some pretty famous footsteps; previous winners of this prestigious award include the likes as Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent.
Congratulations to all the nominees and especially to this years prize winners. We can’t wait to see what you all do next.
