The Fashion Scout collaborative showcase, ones to watch, is instrumental in raising the profile of emerging design talent globally. One of the first places to see the very best in new UK and international design talent, ones to watch provides a catwalk showcase for the brightest emerging designers.
‘Aucarre’ is a brand which emphasizes feminine power by elevating and giving voice to all women. Founded by the twin designers with Greek origins; Eirini and Dimitra who both after graduating with a BSc in bimolecular and genetic science, moved to London to study fashion and arts at Central Saint Martins in BA fashion design with print and knitwear. During their journey to launching their own label, the sisters assisted designers at international labels including Mary Katrantzou, Gucci and Chanel.
The sisters say, “we are inspired by women and this was the inspiration for this season as we have in mind feminist realism and we thought we could create a super-real world where we would re-portray the ideal woman and have some elements that are feminine, like the flowers and sparkles, as well as some domestic motifs that we introduced in our patterns and prints. We presented the woman as a very fresh and modern, future dynamic woman. Some elements were also taken from ‘The Matrix’ as we think it’s essential to have strength as women. We believe appearance is dynamic and women can influence all different groups and society in general.”
The stunning collection was feminine with clothes that flowed freely and moved with the model. Specsavers provided sunglasses to enhance the looks and this step up in styling made all of the difference.
Florals, sequins and brightly coloured garments were the theme of this collection.
“I think the show went well; we were really excited about the show because it’s our first show and it was so nice. We enjoyed it!”
“It’s the best thing for a designer to showcase in London because all of the trends start out here, so I think it’s the best place to be for an emerging designer.”
“WE HAVE HAD THE MOST SUPPORTIVE TEAM AT FASHION SCOUT. THEY GIVE DESIGNERS A PUSH AND IT’S SUCH A GOOD WAY FOR DESIGNERS TO MAKE THEIR MARK IN THE INDUSTRY. WE BELIEVE IT’S A GOOD STEP FOR US.”

Based in Zagreb, Croatia, ‘Price on Request’ is an award-winning multi gender brand. Independent and aware of today’s wants and needs, they create clothes that speak to courageous and bold individuals with a strong sense of self. Established in 2016 by designer Gala Marija Vrbanic who has a MA in visual communications at Zagreb’s School of Design and followed by time at Central Saint Martins.
Gala says, “this collection didn’t really have an inspiration; everything in this collection has been recycled. We used the clothes from my mum’s fashion brand, so we took the pieces that were unsold and just sitting there and we reverted them. We changed the silhouettes, the prints and the function of the piece. Every piece in the collection is like that.”
The collection showed an array of pieces in more classic hues of black, white and grey, with pops of colour integrated within. A little black dress made its way down the runway with chain straps, shortly followed by a little pink dress with branding across the front of it. Streamlined silhouettes kept the collection clean and universally stylish.
“It’s really great to be showcasing in London, especially as we’re from Croatia so we don’t have the same fashion scene, so it’s obviously great.”
“I THINK THAT THE SHOW WENT GREAT – WE’LL HAVE TO SEE, BUT I WAS REALLY EXCITED AND NOW THAT IT’S ALL DONE I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE PHOTOS. I’M SO PLEASED WITH HOW IT WENT.”

‘Nous Etudions’ is an Argentine brand created by designer Romina Cardillo in 2014. Its philosophy is linked to sustainability, veganism and non-gender traditions.
“I’M INSPIRED BY NATURE ALL THE TIME. I’M INSPIRED BY MY SON AND MY DAUGHTER, WHO I LOVE SO MUCH. MANY THINGS, BUT IT’S NATURE, LOVE AND RESPECT THAT IS THE MAIN INSPIRATION FOR ME.”
Oversized tailoring, pastels and texture were what you could expect from this show. The pale pink coat with laser cut out words, was followed by blue ruched dresses – the layering all creating a textured aesthetic. Clean lines and streamlined silhouettes kept the collection minimal and chic.
“I think the show was wonderful. I’m so excited, I’m nervous too but I think it was wonderful.”
“It’s a dream for me to be showing in London, because I love London. All of my life I’ve come here and said, ‘if I have brand then this is my place in the world!’ because I love the different looks. I think the people here wear whatever they want.”
