Established in 2015, the design duo Theo VII brought their SS18 collection to this year's Fashion Scout, during London Fashion Week. With one background in menswear, and one in womenswear, Theo VII works towards creating genderless fashion. Breaking down gender barriers in fashion is one of the key aesthetics THEO VII prides themselves on. Designer Yui Ding focuses her expertise into their printing patterns, and colour palettes, while the second half of the duo, Miao Hu, incorporates her techniques on the structure and pattern making of their designs.

Their newest SS18 collection features inspiration from the Maasai culture. Although Maasai warriors traditionally focus on red, Theo VII use shapes and loose silhouettes taken from their traditional garments of wrapped sheets around the body. The draped white, green, and blue dresses, and trousers were made from light material, to resemble wrapped cloth. The collection was light, and airy, yet highly decorated with accessories including traditional Maasai woven sandals in orange and blue beads. This SS18 collection featured a uniform series of draped and loose womenswear, with hints of the traditional Maasai culture.
