PARIS| Hellen Van Rees
Hellen strikes the perfect balance between intricate hand made garments and accessible pieces. With a focus on handcraft the collection is created out of a unique combination of wool, silk, silicone and her trademark woven threads.
We caught up with Hellen after a successful first day:
What are you most looking forward to about Fashion Scout Paris and how was the first day for you?
“I am most looking forward to meeting the buyers, and receiving they’re feedback. Today has been really good! The week looks really exciting as I have already received my first proper order!”
What do you think are the advantages of showing in Paris?
“Everyone, from the whole world of fashion, comes to Paris! There seem to be more buyers in Paris, and people are really serious about making an order and becoming a stockist.”
What are the main inspirations of your latest collection?
“Classic Chanel tweed twin suits. My inspiration comes from my material processes. Its about shapes and contrasting textures – and keeping my signature 3D elements, but this time putting a diagonal twist on the cube.”
Hellen will be showing at Fashion Scout Paris until 5th March 2013. View her collection at: 23 Rue du Roi de Sicile, 75004, Paris.
