AGNE KUZMICKAITE EMBODIES FEMININITY AND POPULAR CULTURE
Agne Kuzmickaite, one of the most famous fashion designers from Lithuania, often takes inspiration from everyday concepts for her collections. Agne is influenced by common objects and feminine roles within society. Her collections reflect popular culture and this concept is challenged beautifully through her use of her staple butterfly motif.
For her SS19 collection Agne explores themes of self-realisation throughout her collection. The clothes rails on the set were used to imitate mirrors as the models acted as each other’s reflection. Agne features her traditional butterfly motif which is printed on each garment, which gave the collection a late 90’s feel. Neon pink and yellow shades contrast the otherwise monochrome logo printed garments. Slicked back hair and bright winged eyeliner elevated the black and striped swimsuits with ruffled skirts attached to the hemline illustrated this retro inspired collection.
